Starting at 10 am, Monday through Friday, the Friends of the Botanic Gardens provide guided tours of Flecker Gardens. The tours typically last 60 to 90 minutes and highlight important Garden features, including the Conservatory and Aboriginal Plant Use section. They also offer the following guided tours. Admission is free.

Enjoy the Esplanade Playgrounds
Visit The Esplanade with your children if you have any. On the lovely shoreline of the city, the area has three playgrounds that promote active play. It is free to enter any of the playgrounds.
Muddy's Playground
Muddy's is a brand-new, enjoyable, secure splash park and playground. Together with a variety of playthings, it has active, passive, interactive, and instructional features. Muddy's Playground has BBQ and picnic tables, a free public car park, on-street parking, and public restrooms if you want to enjoy a family picnic there.
Fun Ship Playground
Next is the Fun Ship, a distinctive playground that fits the foreshore location's motif and is at the northern end of the Esplanade, close to the intersection with Smith Street. A see-saw, slide, climbing structures, and puzzle games are all included. Due to the Barbeque and the seating places, you may also have a picnic here.
Healing Gardens Playground
The Healing Garden, next to Cairns Hospital, is the last. It has a little playground surrounded by vast grounds and lovely plants meant to promote harmony and tranquillity. Pale violet, which supports emotional calmness and solace, and yellow, which helps strengthen the mind and relieve nerve discomfort, highlight the play area.
Swim at the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon
In addition to the playgrounds, the Esplanade provides other amenities. You can work out at one of the outdoor gyms, ride at the Skate Plaza or enjoy a friendly game of beach volleyball at any of the five beach volleyball courts. The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is the one thing you must see and experience.
A 4800 square meter saltwater swimming pool, The Lagoon provides a year-round, safe swimming area that lifeguards watch over. The entrance is free. You can visit every Thursday through Tuesday from 6 am to 9 pm. It is open from noon to 9 pm on Wednesdays because the Lagoon's cleaning and maintenance is early in the day.
